I am just back from Greece and, as I am going through my photos from my trip, I wanted to share one more post with photographs before I am back with a new recipe next week! This time, it’s all about the colorful doors of the Greek islands.
Not new or fancy ones, but those old doors that once were painted bright and are now faded with flaking paint, still standing with a story to tell. Many of these doors belong to abandoned houses or houses that are partially collapsed, but still have beautiful lines and intricate ironwork details.
For as long as I can remember, I have been photographing doors and windows wherever I travel— I love how different they are in each place and how much they show the unique culture of a town. Here are a few of my favorites from a couple islands I visited on my recent holiday! Which one is your favorite?
Thank you for following along and for reading this post!

These are really wonderful. Thanks for sharing. My favs–the blue with the iron inset and the blue/brown one in the pristine white wall with flowers on either side. Your photos and recipes certainly keep Greece on our “must visit” list!!!

Wonderful pictures and wonderful doors! Each one conveys a different charm and feeling! I am torn between the green one that has been looted from its ornaments and the white one that the pink voukamvilia obstructs its entrance…

Marianna, thank you so much! These doors are some of my favorites, each one for different reasons… Love the colors and I could use each one of them as a surface for food photography!
