  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp. double-acting baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. ground cloves
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1⅓ cups granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup cooked or canned pumpkin
  • ¾ to 1 cup of mini chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF and grease a 9” x 5” loaf pan.
  2. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cloves and set them aside.
  3. Stir the vanilla extract into the milk and set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, beat the sugar, butter, and eggs until they are light and fluffy. Add the pumpkin to this mixture.
  5. In three stages, add the sifted dry ingredients alternately with the milk to the pumpkin mixture, beating after each addition, until just blended. Be careful not to overbeat between each addition.
