Thanksgiving Day is almost here. The focus of this favorite holiday is gathering the family from near and far to give thanks around a table laden with seasonal and traditional dishes. What could be better than that?
With some planning, a detailed shopping list, an armful of family-favorite recipes, and an open mind to experiment with new ones, we should all be ready for the big day! Whether you host a gathering of 20 or just you and a special guest, this is a good time to start your preparations.
I wanted to share with you some of my favorite dishes for Thanksgiving, in the hopes that you might choose a few for your own holiday table. My suggestions include a couple of easy appetizers, my fool-proof way to brine and roast a turkey, make-ahead mashed potatoes, delicious side dishes, a favorite fall soup, bread rolls and biscuits, and a couple of desserts!
As it is Thanksgiving, I would like to say a big, heartfelt “Thank You” to all my readers; to those of you who have been following my blog since its beginning almost three years ago, and to the many new readers too. I am very grateful for all of you who follow along with my culinary adventures, who take the time to post your comments, who try my recipes, and who give me your feedback.
Happy Thanksgiving!
