I am writing today’s post from New York, where I am spending a few days visiting my daughter. Yesterday, the temperatures were high and it felt like summer was still here, but today is rainy and wet, and the temperature suddenly dropped by forty degrees.
This got me thinking of comfort food. After searching my blog’s archives, I came up with a list of 10 of my favorite recipes for fall that I knew I had to share with you. Warm soups, nourishing roasted vegetables, earthy mushroom dishes, hearty roasted pork tenderloins with creamy polenta… this list has something for everyone.
Around this time of year, cooking takes a more central role in our lives as we gather indoors and around the table. I hope you give these recipes a try, and hopefully some will become staples in your cold-weather recipe rotation as well. Happy cooking and happy sharing!

They all look so yummy! The spoon in the bowl of potato, leek, and watercress soup is like one in a set that was passed down to me from my mother. Nothing says comfort like good food paired with happy memories!
